ABN checking - Valid and Active?
Planability verifies ABN numbers directly with the Australian Business Register. When a Provider is created, Planability verifies the ABN number is valid and active. Active status is then checked nightly, and can be verified on demand utilising the 'Verify ABN' button on the Provider Details page
The ABN checks are carried out as follows:
- When creating a new Provider in Planability we check that the ABN is both Valid and Active.
- When the first claim for a Provider is created on any given day, we will again check that the ABN is Active.
Planability does not currently verify a match between ABN number and entity or trading name. We allow Plan Managers to input Provider Names to allow for situations where one ABN may represent multiple business names or locations.
New Provider created Alert
Planability automatically notifies Director users when a new Provider profile is created or bank details changed, and provides a timeline to track any edits or updates to Provider details.

NOTE: We recommend our Plan Managers perform due diligence checks at the point of Provider setup to ensure accurate data entry, subsequently utilising the verification feature to ensure ongoing validity when claiming.
