Provider Registration Validation
Planability checks provider registration information to help confirm that providers meet the registration requirements applicable to certain claims.
Provider registration information is checked against data from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, with updates checked daily and reflected in the provider profile.
Currently, this validation applies to registration group 0138 – Assistance with Supported Independent Living (SIL). As NDIS requirements evolve, further registration groups will be included in the validation.
For more information about the specific requirements for SIL claims, see SIL Claims and Payment Changes from 1 July 2026.
How Provider registration validation works
Planability uses provider registration information to help determine whether a provider meets the registration requirements for applicable claims.
Registration information is checked against data from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission each day. Where changes are identified, the provider information in Planability will be updated accordingly.
When a claim is submitted for a registration group included in the validation, Planability checks the provider's registration details and eligibility before allowing the claim to proceed.
Registration groups currently validated
The provider registration validation currently applies to:
- 0138 – Assistance with Supported Independent Living (SIL)
For SIL claims, the validation checks whether the provider has an active, approved registration for registration group 0138 or meets an applicable SIL transition or registration application requirement.
Registration under another registration group does not establish eligibility for 0138.
As NDIS requirements evolve, further registration groups will be included in the validation.
What information can I see on the Provider Profile?
Where available, provider registration information will be displayed on the Provider Profile in Planability.

This includes :
- Current registration status
- Registration period
- Approved NDIS registration groups
- Applicable special conditions.
This information can help you confirm the provider's registration details and understand whether they meet the requirements for a claim subject to provider registration validation.
What happens if a provider doesn't meet the registration requirements?
If Planability cannot confirm that the provider meets the applicable registration requirements, the claim will be prevented from proceeding.
For example, a provider registration that is expired, rejected, withdrawn, suspended or otherwise ineligible will not satisfy the registration validation.
A validation message will be displayed to help you identify why the claim cannot proceed and what information should be checked.
What should I do if a claim is blocked?
If a claim line is blocked by the provider registration validation it will show a blocking error message:

- Review the validation message displayed on the claim.
- Confirm that the claim is associated with the correct provider.
- Check that the provider's ABN is correct.
If the provider was registered for the support group at the time when the supports were delivered, and you wish to overriderride this guardrail, this can be managed from the provider profile.
Note: Overriding the guardrail can only be actioned by Director and Plan Manager (with elevated Provider permission) users.
If you are unable to determine why the claim has been blocked, contact Planability Support for assistance.
